About School

“Sangachhadhwam Samvadadhwam
Samvo-manaansi Jaanataam.”

May we march forward with a common goal
May we be open-minded and work together in harmony

A school which started by some like-minded and progressive people, Ariadaha Sarbamangala Balika Vidyalaya gradually and silently marched into its 100th year in 2021. Today ASBV which accommodates more than 1150 students and 43 teachers and staffs, began with a handful of children, mostly from the neighbourhood with the cooperation of Patipaban Chakraborty, Akshay Ghosal and Bela Bhattacharya in the maternity ward of Anath Bhandar, a popular hospital in the neighbourhood of Ariadaha.
ASBV’s humble beginning started from a nondescript hut in Ariadaha. Today the school which has grown both in numbers and stature started its onward journey with children in the primary classes up to class 6. Back then too, the school’s progressive nature was evident as focus was not only on academics but co-curricular activities as well. Along with academic excellence, the school also trained them in designing and making clay artefacts.
The school after shifting to its current location at Joy Krishna Ghosal Road in 1921 made way for more students and teachers. Gradually with the passage of time, the school began to invest in its infrastructure and development. It got its affiliation for West Bengal Board of Secondary Education in 1952 and for the Higher Secondary Council in 1983. Commerce stream was introduced in the school in 1999.

“Samaano Mantrah Samiti samaanee,
Samaanam Manah sahachitta meshaam.”

May our prayers be one
May we belong to one brotherhood

As the school marched along collecting many laurels on its way, it has imbibed a sense of unity and harmony among the children. With children from all caste, creed and religion studying here, it has taught its children to be sensitive to one and all without any discrimination. Highly skilled and dedicated teachers also guide them in every process to help them become successful in life.
The school also lays tremendous focus on discipline and making their students future ready. ASBV aims to educate every child on subjects beyond curriculum by initiating interest in General Knowledge through quizzes and debates, health and fitness through regular sports activities and NCC, Indian culture and heritage be celebrating festivals and special days like Independence and Republic Days, Teacher’s day, Rabindrajayanti (celebrating the birth anniversary of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore) and also birth anniversaries of Swami Vivekananda and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose among other occasions.

The children of ASBV live by
the four cardinal DUTIES:

SHREE - Cleanliness

DHEE - Regular prayer

ABHI - School rules and regulations

PRAMITI - School uniform

They have imbibed these values in their everyday lives as well.
To help our students stand at par with other students, we lay special stress on helping them in the field of science and technology. Basic and advanced computer training is imparted to the children to help them cope with the latest technological advancements.

Samaanamastu vo Mano Yathaa vah Susahaasati.”

May our aspirations be harmonious
May our minds be in unison
May we strive to reduce disparity
May we be bound in strong fellowship and unity

Our main objective is the realization of the full potential and physical and mental well-being of every child in the school and focusing on their holistic development. We strive to instill all the qualities and values that will make her a good citizen and human being when they step out of the boundaries of the school.
